Dr. Xiaodan Li is internationally recognized for her pioneering contributions to the study of membrane protein structure, function, and dynamics. She is one of the trailblazers in this field and has achieved several groundbreaking accomplishments, including the determination of high-resolution atomic structures of membrane proteins, the development of cryo-electron microscopy techniques, and the creation of data analysis algorithms for free-electron lasers.
